Twelve elite high school girls’ teams from six states and the District of Columbia are competing today in the 25th annual Girls’ Lacrosse Spring Fling at St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes in Alexandria, Va.SSSS

The Spring Fling draws highly competitive teams from our region and across the country. Seven of the teams competing this year finished the 2015 season in the nation’s Top 100 and five are ranked or mentioned in the STEPS Lacrosse North America Rankings. More than 50 players participating each year go on to play in the NCAA.

1. Hill Academy (Ontario, Canada) 6-0
The Hill continued to show its dominance by handing IMG National (FL) its first loss of the season, 18-8. They’ll have another huge matchup next against No. 2 Culver Military Academy on April 17.

2. Culver Military Academy (IN) 6-2
The Eagles will continue their stretch against Michigan teams, facing Univ Detroit Jesuit tomorrow and No. 4 Brother Rice on Sunday.

3. Everest Academy (Ontario, Canada) 1-1
Everest battled to just a four-goal loss to IMG National (FL) in its season opener, then picked up their first win against No. 7 St. Michael’s College.

4. Brother Rice (MI) 3-0
The Warriors have a tough pair of games coming up, first against No. 5 Carmel today and then against No. 2 Culver Military Academy on Sunday.

5. Carmel (IN) 7-1
The Greyhounds have a big test against No. 4 Brother Rice today.

6. MICDS (MO) 5-0
The Rams most recently beat Lafayette (MO) 24-1 and will face Memphis University School (TN) today.

7. St. Michael’s College (Ontario, Canada) 3-1
The Blue Gaels lost a close 10-9 game to No. 3 Everest Academy and bounced back by taking the Jammer Classic Friday with wins over Canadian squads Donald Wilson, Christ King Georgetown and
Birchmount C.I.

8. Upper Arlington (OH) 3-1

The Golden Bears – who lost only to MICDS in OT – rallied Friday from a 6-2 deficit to defeat Cincinnati St. Xavier, 9-7. They host Detroit Catholic Central today.

9. Cleveland St. Ignatius (OH) 4-0
The Wildcats routed North Allegheny (PA), 16-5, on Friday and face another PA team, Shady Side Academy, today.

10. Cincinnati St. Xavier (OH) 5-1
The Bombers have their biggest test of the season so far with a matchup against Upper Arlington today.
The Shamrocks have climbed their way into the Top 10 after an impressive start. They’ll have games against Hilliard Darby (OH) today and Columbus St. Charles (OH) today.

1. Loyola Academy (IL) 6-5
The Ramblers have battled through an incredibly difficult schedule, but will move back into interstate play with a matchup against Lake Forest HS today.

2. East Grand Rapids (MI) 1-0
The Pioneers had the week off and will next play against Caledonia (MI) on April 13.

3. Upper Arlington (OH) 3-0
The Golden Bears crushed their first three opponents and will face Cranbrook Kingswood (MI) today.

4. New Trier (IL) 2-0
The Trevians picked up a big win over No. 8 Glenbrook South, 15-14.

5. Hinsdale Central (IL) 2-3
The Red Devils have also had a very difficult schedule, which will continue against Lake Oswego (OR) today.

6. Rockford (MI) 2-0
The Rams were off this week and will have their next game on April 15 against Caledonia (MI).

7. Hill Academy (Ontario, Canada) 1-4
The Hill is off after a stretch of top five foes.

8. Glenbrook South (IL) 4-3
The Titans lost to No. 4 New Trier by just one goal, but also picked up a pair of wins over California teams before then.

9. Kentucky Country Day (KY) 9-1
The Bearcats were off this week and will have their next game on April 15 against Lafayette (MO).

LEGACY Global Sports and Brine Lacrosse announced today the roster of high school and youth girls who will represent the? Midwest and their? State at the 2016 National Lacrosse Classic. The prestigious tournament will feature elite level boys and girls selected from regional tryouts held nationwide.Brine-NLC-1

The event will take place July 19-22, 2016 at River City Sportsplex in Richmond, Virginia. Teams will compete in a championship format providing players with exposure to collegiate recruiting and a meaningful lifetime experience.

After having the week off, the Hill will have a huge showdown with No. 2 Culver Military Academy on Sunday.

2. Culver Military Academy (IN) 8-20
The Eagles handed No. 4 Brother Rice its first loss of the season and will face both No. 1 Hill Academy and Cranbrook (MI) on Sunday.

3. Everest Academy (Ontario, Canada) 1-1
Everest will look for their second win of the season when they face Upper Canada College (Ontario) on Tuesday.

4. Brother Rice (MI) 5-1
The Warriors lost by just one goal to No. 2 Culver Military Academy and beat No. 5 Carmel. They will have another big matchup against No. 10 Dublin Jerome today.

5. Carmel (IN) 8-2
The Greyhounds will have their anticipated rescheduled matchup with No. 7 MICDS today.

6. St. Michael’s College (Ontario, Canada) 7-1
The Blue Gaels won the DoubleBlue invitational with three victories, two over Provincial Medalists from last year, Holy Trinity, and St. Peter’s (2015 Silver). They play at Nichols today.

The Rams suffered their first loss of the year to Memphis University School (TN) and will face No. 5 Carmel today.

The Ramblers got back on track with wins over Lake Forest HS (IL) and Lake Oswego (OR).

2. East Grand Rapids (MI) 3-0
The Pioneers beat Caledonia (MI) 16-6, and Forest Hills United (MI), 14-2, Friday night and ready for a showdown with No. 5 Rockford Wednesday night. EGR is the four-time defending Division II state champion and defeated Rockford – the three-time defending Division I state champion – 11-10 in overtime last year.

3. Upper Arlington (OH) 5-0

The Golden Bears faced Quaker Valley (PA) Friday and meet Mt. Lebanon (PA) and Medina (OH) today as part of a PA-Ohio invitational.

4. New Trier (IL) 5-0

The Trevians picked up wins over Hinsdale Central and Deerfield (IL) and will face Maine South (IL) on Monday.

5. Rockford (MI) 3-0
The Rams had the week off and routed Caledonia (MI), 22-2, Friday as they gear for the Michigan State champion showdown Wednesday with East Grand Rapids.

The Hill struggled past La Salle (PA), 12-10, Friday after its big 12-4 win over No. 2 Culver Military Academy on Sunday. They play Salesianum (DE) today.

2. Culver Military Academy (IN) 9-3
The Eagles fell to No. 1 Hill Academy, but will have a pair of games against Tennessee teams next — McCallie School tomorrow and Christian Brothers on Sunday.

3. Everest Academy (Ontario, Canada) 5-1
Everest went 3-0 in the Shawn Williams Invitation, including another victory over No. 5 St. Michael’s College.

4. Brother Rice (MI) 8-1
After a 12-goal win over Cranbrook (MI), the Warriors will take on University Detroit Jesuit (MI) today.

1. Loyola Academy (IL) 9-5
The Ramblers picked up a key overtime win over No. 6 Hinsdale Central and will face No. 4 New Trier on Wednesday.Midwest Girls Rankings

2. East Grand Rapids (MI) 8-0
The Pioneers beat fellow reigning Michigan state champion No. 5 Rockford 11-10 on Wednesday. The Pioneers trailed 9-8 with 45.3 seconds left in regulation, but they tied it up with 14.8 seconds left and eventually won in overtime. They will take on Caledonia (MI) next on Wednesday.

3. Sycamore (OH) 8-0
The Aviators continue to plow through their competition, and claimed a 12-3 win over Indian Hill (OH) on Friday. They play at 10-1 Thomas Worthington (OH) today.

4. Upper Arlington (OH) 9-0
The Golden Bears will face No. 7 New Trier (IL) today and at No. 5 New Albany (OH) Tuesday in a key stretch pf games.

5. New Albany (OH) 10-1
The Eagles gained a statement win Friday by defeating New Trier (IL), 11-8. They host No. 4 Upper Arlington on Tuesday.

6. Rockford (MI) 4-1
The Rams lost to No. 2 East Grand Rapids in overtime, 11-10. They’ll face St. Charles Co-Op (IL) and Arrowhead (WI) tomorrow.

7. New Trier (IL) 7-1
The Trevians dropped an 11-8 decision to New Albany today and face a major challenge today with No. 3 Upper Arlington and Medina (OH).

8. Hinsdale Central (IL) 6-7

The Aviators lost to No. 5 New Albany 12-8 to end their season.

7. New Trier (IL) 18-4
The Trevians beat St. Charles Co-Op 23-14 to advance to the state semifinals against No. 9 Hinsdale Central.

8. East Grand Rapids (MI) 13-4
The Pioneers will play Caledonia (MI) in the second round of the Michigan Division II playoffs.

9. Hinsdale Central (IL) 12-8
The Red Devils have won three playoff games and will move on to the state semifinals after defeating York (IL) 15-3.

10. Kentucky Country Day (KY) 22-3
The Bearcats dominated their competition on their way to a state championship, defeating Collegiate (KY) 16-1 in the title game.

1. Hill Academy (Ontario, Canada) 11-0
The Pride finished undefeated after facing some of the top teams in the northeastern U.S.

2. Culver Military Academy (IN) 20-3Midwest boys rankings
The Eagles eclipsed the 20-win mark after defeating Haverford School (PA), 8-7, to win the Inter-Ac Challenge.

3. Brother Rice (MI) 17-2
The Warriors pummeled Huron Valley Unified (MI) 28-1 in the first round of the playoffs and will take on Midland (MI) in the MSLCA semifinals Wednesday.

4. MICDS (MO) 18-1
The Rams have rolled through the playoffs so far, and they’ll face St. Louis University Jesuit (MO) on Saturday.

5. Cincinnati St. Xavier (OH) 19-2
The Bombers have won all three of their playoff games by double digits thus far and will play Loveland (OH) on Saturday.

6. Upper Arlington (OH) 17-3
After beating New Albany (OH) in the playoffs on Wednesday, the Golden Bears will have a huge regional playoff matchup with Dublin Coffman on Saturday.

7. Cleveland St. Ignatius (OH) 14-2
The Wildcats will face Olentangy Liberty (OH) in the regional playoffs on Saturday.

8. Dublin Coffman (OH) 18-2
The Shamrocks got revenge on Dublin Jerome (OH) with a 13-10 win in the playoffs. They’ll move on to face No. 6 Upper Arlington with a chance to avenge their only other loss this season.

9. St. Michael’s College (Ontario, Canada) 24-4
The Blue Gaels will compete in the finals of the Conference of Independent Schools in their third matchup of the season against St. Andrew’s College (Ontario, Canada) on Friday at 3 p.m.

10. Bloom Jefferson (MN) 12-1
The Jaguars won the Minnesota Metro West Conference for the second year in a row following a 21-0 win over Cooper (MN).

Regional tryouts for the Brine National Lacrosse Classic in Maryland, Ohio, Upstate New York, Illinois and Connecticut are being held in June and registration remains open.

The Brine NLC, run by Legacy Global, will take place July 19-22, 2016 at River City Sportsplex in Richmond, Virginia. Teams will compete in a championship format providing players with exposure to collegiate recruiting and a meaningful lifetime experience.
